How to Use Loop Closing Pliers
The loop closing pliers is an essential tool for any jewelry maker that has to close a lot of jump rings or eye pins. Making a repetitive job easier and quicker, loop closing pliers may be the one tool missing from your tool box.
Loop Closing Pliers vs. Wire Looping Pliers
Loop closing pliers are primarily used to close already formed loops with a slight opening. The inners notches inside the pliers allows you to securely seed your jump ring or eye pin into the pliers before gently closing.
On the other hand, wire looping pliers serve a different function. If you have no existing loop formed, these pliers will help you to completely form and securely close your loop. This is perfect for working with a wire spool or closing the ends of eye pins and headpins with a connector eye. Check out this post for a video tutorial on wire looping pliers.
Directions
1. Open up the jaw of your loop closing pliers to seed the jump ring or eye pin inside the pre existing ridges.
2. Gently place your ring into the ridges of the loop closing pliers.
3. Gently squeeze the handle until the ring is completely closed.
4. Release grip to remove the ring.
